Michael S. Christopher (Com ’00 L/M) married Allison W. Babb on June 2, 2007. The couple lives in Boston.

Adam J. Greene (Col ’00, Law ’05 L/M) married Nicola Leventhal on May 12, 2007. Mr. Greene is the son of Frederick L. Greene (Col ’66, Med ’70 L/M) and Donna W. Greene (Educ ’71 L/M). The couple resides in Charlotte, N.C., where Mr. Greene is employed by the law firm of Moore & Van Allen.

Elizabeth P. Marlowe (Col ’00 L/M) received a master of education degree in adult education and human resource development in May 2006 from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she is an educational coordinator for the School of Medicine.

Rick Mayes (Grad ’00 L/M) published a book, Medicare Prospective Payment and the Shaping of U.S. Health Care, with Johns Hopkins University Press.

Stacy A. Nyikos (Grad ’00) published Dizzy, the third book in her aquatic series. The previous book in the series, Shelby, was a winner in the 2006 Arizona Authors Literary Contest and a finalist in ForeWord magazine’s Book of the Year Award in 2006.

Brianne O’Brien (Col ’00 L/M) and Peter J. Kurdock were married on June 9, 2007, in Washington, D.C. The couple resides in New Jersey, where they both practice law.

Susan Warner (Col ’00 L/M) graduated cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in December 2006. She is a law clerk to the Honorable Virginia M. Hernandez Covington in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida in Jacksonville.

 

Brian Zajick (Engr ’00 L/M) is a captain in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, serving as an area liaison officer. Mr. Zajick separated from active duty after serving seven and a half years as a communications and information officer. Both Mr. Zajick and his wife, Monica, are contractors with Northrop Grumman. They moved from Royal Air Force Croughton, England, to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, in August.

Aaron R. Baker (Grad ’01) received a Bakeless Poetry Prize for "Mission Work" during the Middlebury College Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference in May. Mr. Baker will have his book-length manuscript published by Houghton Mifflin, in its Mariner Original Paperback line. He will also receive a fellowship to attend the conference next summer. Mr. Baker teaches literature and writing at James Madison University and lives in Charlottesville with his wife, Jennifer Chang.

 

Jonathan Craun (Com ’01 L/M) received his doctorate in osteopathic medicine from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in May. Dr. Craun is a member of Sigma Sigma Phi and Psi Sigma Alpha. He is interning in radiology at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.

Ashley Joann Hinds (Engr ’01 L/M) and R. Matthew Lemons were married on May 5, 2007. The couple resides in Ridgecrest, Calif., where they are both employed at China Lake Naval Air Warfare Center. Ms. Hinds is a systems engineer and Mr. Lemons is an aerospace engineer.

Brian Johnson (Col ’01 L/M) and his wife, Stacie, welcomed their first child, Cody Rylan, on March 28, 2007. The family resides in Midlothian, Va., where Mr. Johnson works as a senior financial analyst for CGI Technologies and Solutions.

Meredith McNabb (Col ’01) received a master’s degree in divinity from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in May. The Rev. McNabb is a member of the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church and a pastor of Grace United Methodist Church in Manassas, Va.

Katy Morrison (Col ’01, Law ’04 L/M) married Brad Sneade on May 26, 2007. Ms. Morrison Sneade is an attorney with the law firm of Miller & Chevalier in Washington, D.C. The couple resides in Reston, Va.

Kelly O’Leary (Educ ’01) and David Schultz were married in August 2006. The couple resides near Boston.

 

Catherine Ruedig (Col ’01 L/M) and Brian Hunter (Col ’01 L/M) were married on July 29, 2006. They reside in Concord, N.H.

Kate Brooker (Col ’02 L/M) graduated magna cum laude from Brooklyn Law School in June 2006. She is an associate in the mergers and acquisitions group at the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in its New York office.

Joung H. Lee (Arch ’02 L/M) is senior analyst for transportation finance and business development for the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials.

 

Brittney D. Martin (Engr ’02) received a professional engineer’s license and is a project engineer with the firm of Burgess & Niple in its Virginia Beach office. Ms. Martin became a LEED Accredited Professional in 2006 and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. She resides in Virginia Beach.


Joanna Miller Peloquin
(Col ’02) received a medical degree from Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in May and began her residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

 

Stefan Pomrenke (Col ’02) married Lee Ann Machosky on May 25, 2007. They were wed in Bethel Lutheran Church, where Ms. Machosky is pastor. Mr. Pomrenke received a master’s of theological studies degree from Union PSCE and will receive his medical degree/master of public health degree from the Medical College of Virginia in May 2008. The couple resides in Fredericksburg, Va.


Andy Price
(Col ’02 L/M) earned an MBA degree from George Washington University. He also sat for the third and last Chartered Financial Analyst exam. Mr. Price works at Ernst & Young Structured Finance Advisory Services.

Ron Riekki (Grad ’02) received a doctorate in literature and creative writing from Western Michigan University in July. He wrote a novel, U.P., to be published by Ghost Road Press in 2008. Mr. Riekki teaches composition and world literature at Auburn University in Alabama.

 

Carter Shuffler (Engr ’02 L/M) and Daniela Montalvo (Col ’03 L/M) were married on April 21, 2007. The couple resides in Alexandria, Va.

Michelle Coman (Educ ’03) and Lorenz Michel Prüss were married on April 14, 2007. Ms. Coman is a speech-language pathologist at Miami Children’s Hospital and Mr. Prüss is an associate with the law firm of Dimond, Kaplan & Rothstein. The couple resides in Coral Gables, Fla.

Jonathan A.D. Farrell (Col ’03 L/M) and Courtney Rae Esinhart were married on June 2, 2007. The couple resides in Baltimore, where Mr. Farrell is a Ph.D. candidate in biophysics and biophysical chemistry at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His thesis work includes development of new MRI techniques to study neurological diseases.

Jonathan C. Kelley (Engr ’04 L/M) and Margaret P. Jessen (Col ’05 L/M) were married on July 29, 2006. The couple resides in Lake Forest, Ill. Margaret is the granddaughter of John S. Lillard (Col ’52 L/M).

Nate Powell (Educ ’04) started a doctoral degree program at Indiana University at Bloomington in instructional technology, focusing on software development for students with learning disabilities in secondary mathematics.

William J. Sturgill (Col ’04 L/M) received a law degree from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law.

Jorge A. Torrico (Col ’04 L/M) married Yoonji Mary Ann Kim (Com ’04 L/M) on Dec. 16, 2006. Mr. Torrico is a financial center manager for Wachovia Bank, N.A. Ms. Kim is a senior auditor for KPMG in Washington, D.C.


Jamie Billingsley
(Com ’05 L/M) and Hillary Rouse Billingsley (Col ’05 L/M) welcomed their first child and daughter, Caroline Elizabeth, on July 3, 2007. Caroline is the granddaughter of Thomas L. Rouse (Engr ’75 L/M). The family resides in Glen Allen, Va., where Mr. Billingsley is a financial analyst for Dominion Resources and Ms. Billingsley is a special education teacher at South Anna Elementary School.

Tori Guthrie (Com ’05 L/M) was named one of 12 volunteers of the year by Dominion, a national energy company. Ms. Guthrie volunteers as a counselor for bereaved children at Camp Comfort Zone in Richmond, Va. She also serves as a mentor and tutor to refugee children from Bosnia, Congo and Afghanistan.

 

Lindsay Tabas (Engr ’05 L/M) received a master’s degree from the School of Information at the University of California, Berkeley, in May.

John Boisfeuillet Hardman (Law ’06) and Hilliard Barnett Hardman (Law ’06) represented the University as delegates to the installation ceremony of Elizabeth Kiss as president of Agnes Scott College, during which they marched in honor of their late grandmother, Ann R. Jones.
