Thomas Jefferson Road Trip: Step by Step

Location: University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia

Where's TJ?: The Jeffersonian epicenter. TJ is seemingly everywhere--in front of the Rotunda, inside the Rotunda, on the Lawn, at the Law School and Darden.

Location: Charlottesville, VA

Where's TJ?: At the office

Location: The University of Virginia's College at Wise

Where's TJ?: A bronze statue of Thomas Jefferson on the upper campus of The University of Virginia's College at Wise. The statue was a gift from the University of Virginia in recognition of the College's 50th anniversary and in appreciation of Ernest H. Ern's service as chancellor during 2004-2005.

The six-foot, 300-pound statue depicts Jefferson signing the Declaration of Independence and was created by sculptor Edward Hlavka.

Location: Jefferson Hotel, Richmond, Virginia

Where's TJ?: In the lobby of Richmond's Jefferson Hotel.

The lobby, also known as The Palm Court, was home to live alligators until 1948.
